chapter 3:Ruthie

After her accident she stayed at home for two days.
We learn that there is a kind of racism in her entire school career.It starts because her teacher didn't mention of Langston Hughes and for the first time, she felt a strange sense of cultural isolation.
During her first few days of this school,the black students doesn't trust her,especially when they hear her speak,so she feels isolated.Moreover most of her friends are white and she is more confused than ever about her black identy.All these feelings are responsible that she can't expect the gradulation and the school.
her best friend is Andrea McCormick and she tells Ruthie that Erika thinks that Ruthie and AJ have something going.
Ruthie is the student body vice president and Christian Weisnurg is her best friend.
She knows that AJ is very popular but she also says that he is arrogant too.
As AJ and Ruthie talk about the trouble between Erika and AJ,AJ asks Ruthie why she always hangs up with the white girls and he says her that the black kids think she is a snob.
