the chapters of coming of age

chapter 1:AJ

In the first chapter we learn something about the relationship between AJ and his girlfriend Erika who has been getting on his nerves.Moreover AJ tells that he played varsity football since sophomore year.
There is also Ruthie Bates in the first chapter,she is a top student and she is in a chemistry accident because of AJ.She lives in Northrighe where all the Buppies and the middle-class white people live,although she and her family are black.She is also like a "symbol" for the Black America's future.

->I was suprised because of the language:
words like "bitch";to keep her mouth shut"-I can't believe that he speaks like that in refer to his girlfriend!!!!
Also the accend was a little bit confusing!!!!
